Watch for CropStop that is better for waterfowl than for growing crops

Ag reporting is getting to be something you do with waders and waterwings in North Dakota and Minnesota. This shot near Sabin, Minn., was taken by an observer as “yours truly” tries to get close enough for an interview with one of the locals. The harvester was dressed in a dapper black-and-white coat, and was partly immersed in thought and in a wheel track. Honk, honk.

Farmers in the region have been experiencing excessive rains for this time of year, with some saying it was a blessing in the wake of drought forecasts for 2013. But then, it would also be a blessing if it stopped. For more CropStop reports from western Minnesota, check out the July 1 issue of Agweek.
